Chapter 4: Ethics & Digital Responsibility

Staying Safe and Smart in the Digital World

🎯 What will we learn?

  • How to use technology responsibly.
  • Creating Strong Passwords and protecting privacy.
  • Understanding your Digital Footprint.
  • Proper Online Behavior (Netiquette).

1. Online Safety & Privacy

The internet is like a giant park. It’s fun to play in, but you should never talk to strangers or give away your home address. Privacy means keeping your personal information (name, school, phone number) to yourself.

🛡️
Safety Rule: Never share your location or pictures with people you don't know in real life.

2. Password Safety

Your password is the key to your digital locker. A strong password should be like a toothbrush: Don't share it with anyone, and change it regularly!

A Strong Password has: 8+ Characters, Capital letters, Numbers, and Symbols (like @, #, $).

3. Digital Footprints

Every time you search something, post a comment, or like a photo, you leave a Digital Footprint. Unlike a footprint in the sand, a digital footprint never washes away. It stays on the internet forever!

4. Online Behaviour (Netiquette)

Netiquette (Network + Etiquette) is a set of rules for behaving properly online. Always remember: If you wouldn't say it to someone's face, don't type it online.
